Knee

The knee joint is subjected to stress in almost every sport and in daily life. With many years of experience and expertise, we are able to treat almost any condition affecting the knee joint. In addition to acute pain and injuries, we also address long-term joint damage and can provide preventive therapies to avoid pain and wear.

The meniscus serves important functions in the knee joint. In addition to stabilizing the knee joint, it also provides shock absorption and mobility. Meniscal tears can lead to pain and, consequently, cartilage damage in the knee.

The cartilage covers the joint surfaces in the knee joint, providing smooth and efficient mobility. Various mechanisms can lead to cartilage damage, resulting in increased wear and tear and pain in the knee.

The collateral ligaments are located on the inner and outer sides of the knee joint. They provide stability to the knee joint during movement and weight-bearing phases. Injuries to the collateral ligaments can lead to instability with an increased occurrence of knock-knees (Genu valgum) or bow-leggedness (Genu varus).

The quadriceps tendon is a thick tendon that connects the quadriceps muscle to the kneecap and plays an important role in extending the knee joint.

The hamstrings, also referred to as the ischiocrural muscles, are a group of three muscles located at the back of the thigh, forming the hip extensor.

Sinding-Larsen-Johansson syndrome is a condition that primarily affects young athletes who are subjected to repetitive stress on the knee joint.

In the knee joint, there are anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments. Their function is to stabilize the knee joint. Cruciate ligament tears can lead to instability (loosening) of the knee.

The patella is a bone located in the front area of the knee joint and acts as a lever arm for the extensor mechanism. Disruptions in the area of the kneecap or a dislocation can lead to pain and cartilage damage.

Degeneration, instability, accidents, and strain are among the various causes of wear and tear in the knee joint. Apart from pain, this condition can lead to restricted mobility and alterations in leg alignment. Targeted treatments can help prevent or slow down the progression of osteoarthritis.

The patellar tendon is a thick tendon that extends from the bottom of the kneecap (patella) to the upper shinbone (tibial tuberosity).

Osgood-Schlatter disease is a condition that occurs in children and adolescents during growth, caused by repeated overloading of the patellar tendon at the tibial tuberosity.
